Dean Snyder

Edward A. Snyder, Dean

George Pratt Shultz Professor of Economics

Ted served as dean of Chicago GSB since July 2001. He has focused his efforts on maintaining the quality and integrity of the enterprise, increasing its role throughout the world, and setting high expectations of all members of the GSB community. He holds master's and doctoral degrees in economics from the University of Chicago. His research interests include industrial organization, antitrust economics, and financial institutions. He co-teaches a course with Gary Becker and Kevin Murphy on economic analysis of major public policy issues.

 Stacy Kole

Stacey Kole, Deputy Dean for the Full-time MBA Program

Clinical Professor of Economics

Stacey joined the GSB in 2004 from the Simon School of Business at the University of Rochester where she was associate dean for MBA programs. She earned her master’s and doctoral degrees in economics from the University of Chicago. She teaches a course on managing the workplace.

 Mark Zmijewski

Mark Zmijewski, Deputy Dean for Part-time MBA Programs

Leon Carroll Marshall Professor of Accounting

A faculty member since 1986, Mark has served as deputy dean since 1996. He previously was associate dean for the PhD studies and executive director of the Center for Research Prices. He earned his master’s and doctoral degrees at the University of New York—Buffalo. His research interests are valuation, security analysis, and the effect of financial disclosures. He has taught courses for all GSB degree programs, and serves as a consultant on valuation issues for various corporations.

Richard Leftwich

Richard Leftwich, Deputy Dean for Faculty

Fuji Bank and Heller Professor of Accounting and Finance

A native of Australia, Richard holds a master’s and PhD from the University of Rochester. He joined the Chicago GSB faculty in 1979 and has taught in all degree programs here. He previously was Director of the Center for Research in Security Prices and is currently co-editor of the Journal of Accounting Research. He was named deputy dean in 2004. His research interests include audit qualifications, bond ratings, corporate charter changes, and block trades. He currently teaches courses on cases in financial management and financial analysis and strategy.
